ECHO: SECRETS OF THE LOST CAVERN for the PC presents an interesting, different kind of storyline and game. While puzzles and collecting items play a large role in the game, the adventure aspect is also represented. Describing ECHO in one line makes the game sound very different: the basic premise is to help a caveman learn to paint.
Arok, a young caveman, seeks shelter in a cave when he’s attacked by a lion. Here, he sees cave paintings on the wall, paintings that trigger a suppressed memory of Arok learning to paint from Klem, a powerful painter-sorcerer who could make his painted images come to life. Determined to find Klem and discover what kind of power sleeps within himself, Arok sets out on a remarkable journey through a stone age setting. Arok will need weapons to defend himself, of course, and to create them, players will have to collect materials. These include sticks, rocks, bones, and other items, and eventually, players will be able to combine them into slingshots, spears, or less deadly items like a cooking splint or water bag. These items will go far in helping Arok survive and reach the numerous painting puzzles. These logic puzzles help the young caveman unlock his past with Klem and provide players with a challenge. ECHO: SECRETS OF THE LOST CAVERN is a fascinating game that will challenge players while surprising them with its deep storyline and unique characters.
